Welcome to the Timber Lane Elementary PTA

The Timber Lane Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) is an incredible group of volunteers dedicated to supporting the needs of Timber Lane teachers, staff, and students. Volunteering with the PTA is a great way to invest in your school community, develop deeper connections, and establish a trusted network of parent support.

Joining the PTA comes with absolutely no obligation to volunteer. It's truly an opportunity to connect with your school community in ways that work for you. Should you choose to get involved, your involvement can take many shapes; whether it’s supporting teachers in the classroom, helping fundraise, or sharing your time and expertise. Here's our ask of you as we begin the 2024-2025 school year:

Please join the PTA. Memberships for families are only $15, and memberships for teachers are only $10.

Consider making an additional one-time donation as a way to "pay forward" the per student costs mentioned above. This option is available as you complete your registration.

Consider signing up now, to donate your time toward a cause this year. You can find open volunteer opportunities here

ELECTION DAY BAKE SALE: VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Who's ready to break out their oven mitts and help raise some dough for Timber Lane? We are looking for our community (Parents, Grandparents, Neighbors, Friends, Church Groups!) to put their baking passions to great use! You can bake (or buy!) anything you'd like, loaves, cookies, bars, muffins, cakes, pies. We ask that you package small items like cookies into individual serving sizes in bags or boxes (think 1-3 cookies, 1-2 bars, 1 muffin), and please label if your item has any nuts! Rather buy a dozen cookies and package them up? That's ok, we don't judge!

Polls open at 6! We are also looking for volunteers to help sell on the day of the election (11/5 from 6am-7pm). You can sign up for one hour or multiple hour slots. Kids are welcome and encouraged to come along to help learn about money management and to practice their persuasive speaking skills. It is always a fun and rewarding event. This year we are hoping to top last year's $1600 sale with the large voter turnout expected.

Reach out with any questions to Kristin Crysler at vicepresident@timberlanepta.com

FALL GARDEN CLEAN UP DAY: UPDATED DATE

Join us for a day of community and giving back! This year's annual Fall Garden Green-Up is scheduled for Saturday, October 19th from 9:00 - 12:00 pm at Timber Lane Elementary School.

Roll up your sleeves and join us for a day of fun preparing the Timber Lane grounds for winter! No green thumb required - just bring your enthusiasm (and garden gloves if you have them)!

There are a number of ways to get involved:

- Volunteer your time to help make the exterior of the school beautiful!
- Lend your post hole digger, wheelbarrow and shovels

We will be moving the weather station among other great outdoor fall gardening activities. Please RSVP, by clicking here, to let us know you're coming!

SHOP WITH US AT LEMON LANE

Join us on October 10th at Lemon Lane Consignment for a fun day of shopping for a cause! 10% of all sales from opening to close will be donated back to TLES, as long as you mention Timber Lane at checkout.
This is a great opportunity to stock up on some fall and winter essentials, or buy a gift for a friend! Their inventory is adorable, and updates regularly. This event occurs the day after one of their Walk in Wednesdays, which typically means you have the best chance to snag some of their best deals. We hope to see you there!

GENERAL SCHOOL FAQs

    • What time does school start?

School doors open at 8:30am and the first bell rings at 8:40am. Classes officially begin at 8:50am. If you arrive to school after 8:50am you should plan to enter through Door 1 and sign in at the front desk.

    • We plan to use Kiss & Ride for pickup drop off, how does it work?

Kiss & Ride is a designated loop for parents to drop off or pick up children before and after school. The designated times are 8:30am - 8:50am and 3:35pm -3:50pm. You can sign up for Kiss & Ride by clicking here. Each child/family will be assigned a number. Parents will receive a decal that should be visible on the rearview mirror. Students will receive a number tag with the corresponding number to be worn on their backpack. Learn more about Kiss & Ride procedures by clicking here.

    • My student plans to ride the bus, what's the best way to know when the bus will arrive at my bus stop?

Download the HereComesTheBus mobile app by clicking here. You should expect bus delays and inconsistencies the first week or two as bus drivers, the school, and students adjust to new routines. This app is the best way to ensure you have the most up to date information. Remember, kindergarten-aged bus riders will not be released from the bus without an adult present at the bus stop!

    • What door do students who walk to school use?

All students who walk to school (grades Pre-K through 6th) should enter the school through Door 2. You can use this visual as a reference for both walkers and kiss-and-ride entry/exit points.  Remember, Pre-K students are required to be walked to Door 2 and handed off to a Pre-K staff member.

    • My student plans to attend SACC, where do they enter the school?

All students who attend morning SACC should enter the school through Door 5 (located on the blacktop across from the playground). You'll need to ring the bell so a SACC staff member can open the door. Please ensure all SACC students are dropped off before 8:30am when the kiss-and-ride procedures begin.

    • My student plans to buy lunch, how do I manage meal payments?

If your student needs to purchase lunch, you'll need a MySchoolBucks account. From your account you can add and manage funds for all your children, whether through a one-time payment or an auto-pay solution.

GENERAL FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • If I join the PTA, do I have to volunteer my time?

Volunteering is not required! You can join and pay dues simply to support our activities. Volunteering isn't required to be a part of the PTA. And if you want to volunteer, but aren't a dues-paying PTA member, that's okay too!

  • If I join the PTA, do I have to go to PTA meetings?

Meetings are 100% optional! We love when parents join us at PTA meetings. It's a great way to learn about what's happening at school, hear from teachers and other guest speakers, learn about volunteer opportunities, and to ask any questions. However, you are not required to go to meetings, even if you join the PTA.
